Metropolis, The

Montague, a young lawyer from Mississippi, is introduced to New York City in the early 1900’s by his younger brother who has been accepted by “high society.” Glimpses of Wall Street, the Tenderloin, tenement districts, opulent entertaining and the lives of the very wealthy are described with bitterness and price tags that are meant to shock.
